A COLEFORD woman who once stripped naked and got into pensioner Ted Lambert’s bed after offering him sex for money later broke into his home, hit him with a hammer and stole his wallet, it was alleged on Monday.

Nicola Wade, 27, of Oakfields, has pleaded not guilty at Gloucester Crown Court to aggravated burglary of 78-year-old Mr Lambert’s Coleford home and the theft of his wallet containing about £700 on July 11 last year.

Prosecutor Caighli Taylor told the jury that at the time of the alleged attack Mr Lambert already knew Wade and in the weeks leading up to the incident Wade had visited him once and given him a bottle of port she said she had shoplifted, alleged Ms Taylor.

"It was a rather strange visit and it concluded with Wade offering him her sexual services in return for money," the prosecutor said.

"It even involved him and she ending up very briefly in bed together for about ten minutes. Nothing happened.

The jury was told that at about 8pm on July 11 Mr Lambert was at home alone when he heard a knock at the door and he opened it to a man who asked if he had puppies for sale.

But as Mr Lambert was telling the man he must have the wrong address he was alleged to have been attacked by Wade and stealing his wallet before running off with the man who had originally called at the door.

The trial continues.
