Men arrested in connection with deer poaching near Coleford

TWO men have been arrested in connection with a poaching incident in Newland, near Coleford.

At around 2.20pm on Thursday February 4, a deer was killed by two Lurchers in the area. The offenders left the scene and police responded to the incident immediately.

Shortly afterwards, two men were arrested nearby under Section 1 of the Deer Act.

A 30-year-old and a 24-year-old, both from Gwent, have been bailed until Thursday 17 March pending further enquiries.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call police on 101 quoting incident 254 of Thursday February 4.
