A 54-year-old man arrested in connection with the death of a woman in Newnham has been released without charge and will face no further action.
Officers were called by the ambulance service to a house in The Slad, Pope's Hill, at 11.20pm on April 8.
A 56-year-old woman had suffered fatal injuries.
Detectives have now completed their investigation and are satisfied the death was not suspicious.
Officers would like to thank local residents for their cooperation and the scene will be handed back to the family shortly.
Police will now continue to gather information for the coroner in relation to the death.
