POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted near to Cannop Crossroads near Parkend.
The incident happened at around 2am on Sunday 25 October, when the victim, an 18-year-old man, was involved in a verbal altercation with another man. The offender then assaulted the victim, causing him a broken jaw and nose and fractured cheekbone.
The offender is described as white, around 5 foot 10 and wearing a dark coloured hooded top.
Police have followed several lines of enquiry and spoken to other people in the area at the time since the incident occurred.
Officers are now appealing for a couple sat in a silver Citroen C1 which was parked up in the area. They are asked to make contact with police by calling 101 quoting incident 68 of Sunday 25 October.
Anyone else with information is also asked to get in touch with police.
A 20-year-old man from Coleford was arrested on suspicion of assault in connection with the incident.
He has been bailed until Saturday 12 December pending further enquiries.
