A 45-YEAR-OLD Drybrook man was arrested on suspicion of raping another man in a public toilet in the village on Monday.

The public toilet block in the centre of Drybrook was cordoned off as part of a scenes of crime investigation by police.

The toilet block is near the main bus stop in the village and next to the children’s play area of a local pub.

A spokesman for Gloucestershire police said: "The scene has been cordoned off in connection with an allegation of a serious sexual assault on a man in the toilets.

“A man has been arrested on suspicion of rape and remains in police custody at this time. Inquiries are continuing.

“The allegation was received on Monday afternoon, shortly before 2pm. The alleged assault happened between 1.30pm and 1.45pm on Monday.”

Police are investigating the allegation and urged anybody with information to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111, quoting incident 290 of August 8.
