A LYDNEY woman was one of five who were allegedly raped by a ’controlling and manipulative’ man who dominated them and took over their lives, a jury was told today.
Two of the women had agreed to take part in bondage and role play with Ryan Kennedy, 28 - but he forced sex on them even when they wanted him to stop, Gloucester Crown Court heard on Tuesday.
Kennedy, of St Michael’s Hill, Bristol, has pleaded not guilty to 14 charges - 11 of rape, two of assault by penetration and one of causing a woman to engage in sexual activity without consent.
Kennedy denies three charges of raping the 24-year-old Lydney woman between August 2014 and April 2015.
Miss Elder told the court "The five women who have all made complaints against him detail a controlling and manipulative man.”
Kennedy met the Lydney woman at the Reading Festival in August 2014 and he soon became violent and exerted control over her, alleged the prosecutor.
Ms Elder said the police investigation into Kennedy’s sexual relationships began in December 2014 when he and the Lydney woman were both arrested over an alleged fraud.
However the Lydney woman was later released without charge and she told police that Kennedy had been harassing her.
The trial continues.
