A LYDNEY woman arrested on suspicion of attempted murder has been bailed.

The 19-year-old woman suspected of stabbing a 22-year-old man will return to police on July 15.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward after the man was taken to hospital after being stabbed with a broken bottle in Lydney.

Paramedics were called to treat the man who suffered stab wounds to his stomach and neck near the bus station and skate park on Hams Road at around 7.35pm on May 10.

The victim was taken to Southmead hospital in Bristol to treat the wounds which officers believe were caused by a broken beer bottle.

The injuries were initially thought to be serious however he was released from hospital on May 11.

Police believe that travellers at the bus station may have seen the incident.
