POLICE officers investigating the spate of cat killings in the Forest of Dean have teamed up with the Metropolitan Police who are dealing with similar attacks to felines across London.

Gloucestershire Police, who are on the trail of who’s responsible for the death of six cats in Cinderford are now sharing information with the Met who are searching for the so-called ‘Croydon Cat-Ripper’.

He or she is believed to be behind the bizarre deaths of 30 cats in the city.

The two forces are looking at possible suspects who have links to both towns as they have found a number of similarities in the attacks.

One of the cats mutilated locally put up a fight and is being analysed for DNA evidence under its claws.

But with no reported incidents in either town over the past few weeks, the two police forces’ are looking at the names of criminals that have been remanded into custody or jailed.

The total award for any information leading to a conviction of the culprit in the Forest of Dean has now reached £3,000, but still no-one has come forward.
