POLICE are appealing for witnesses to an "altercation" between two groups of teenagers who were threatening to injure each other with weapons earlier this month.

Officers were called out to the incident on Forest Road in Lydney on Saturday, January 8, which involved the two groups of youths threatening each other whilst in possession of a range of weapons.

Three boys, one aged 15 and two 16 year-olds, all from Chepstow, were arrested on suspicion of affray and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place. A 15-year-old boy from Caldicot was also arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of a bladed weapon in a public place.

They were later released on bail pending further enquiries.

A statement from the police said: "Officers believe that this was an isolated incident, however they are appealing for witnesses as well as anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage."
