FOREST police are appealing for witnesses after a female runner was struck by the wing mirror of a car in St Briavels earlier this month.

The collision happened on Bream Road at around 7.30am on Sunday, June 14.

According to Gloucestershire Police, the woman was running along the road when she was hit by the wing mirror of a passing vehicle.

The car involved was described as possibly being a grey Ford and officers believe the driver was a man aged in his late 60s or early 70s.

Police said the driver did not stop at the scene to check on the runner’s welfare following the incident.

The Forest of Dean Neighbourhood Policing Team has now issued an appeal as officers continue their enquiries and are asking the driver to come forward and provide an account of what happened.

They are also keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the area at the time and witnessed the collision.

Residents with CCTV or Ring doorbell cameras covering Bream Road are being urged to review any footage they may have from around the time of the incident in case it captured the vehicle involved.
