HUNDREDS of workers are to be laid off later this year when The Range closes its Mitcheldean site.
The homewares giant announced on Monday that it is planning to move its Vantage Point warehousing operation to Doncaster in September.
More than 300 staff have been told that they are likely to lose their jobs in the cost cutting move.
The devastating blow came as union chiefs raised fears over the future of hundreds of staff at the GSK Ribena plant in Coleford.
Mitcheldean councillor Brian Robinson said: "It is disappointing to hear that jobs may be lost."
