Put differences aside for the benefit of all

LIKE many members who attended and spoke at the Angus Buchanan Recreation Trust AGM on April 25, I also attended St John’s Cof E School from the 1930s.

Co-op has tried to keep Beales open

THE Midcounties Co-operative Society has been doing all that it could to keep the Beale’s Department Store in Cinderford open.

No, not another supermarket

THE likelihood of another supermarket reviving the reputation of a dull Lydney is zero.

Brilliant support for the Green Army

AST weekend was a wonderful one for the town of Newent.

Whose interest is served by a wind farm?

IT was sad to see a good local councillor, who has served Lydney and Bream so well over the years, let down by his political party last week.

Is the Co-op running the Forest of Dean?

I HAVE recently read the letters in The Forester regarding the High Court judgement regarding Asda coming to Cinderford.

Waste of time and public money?

I NOTE that Melvyn and Stan Rudge, who reside in Lydney, have received invitations to attend the Queen’s Garden Party, to be held at Buckingham Palace.

Sorry I couldn't make the county seat

I SHOULD like to give my sincere thanks to all the residents of the Blackeney and Bream division who have me their vote for the county council elections which took place on May 2.

Where do candidates stand on wind turbines?

AFTER the meeting in Lydney addressed by Nigel Farage, I managed to speak to the candidates standing for UKIP for the council elections.

At what cost the Co-op saga?

LOVE it or loathe it the Co-op has certainly fought tooth and nail to protect its monopoly in Cinderford in the Forest of Dean.

Fencing boars out or people in?

REFERENCE the new fence around Beechenhurst.

Boar problem has become a crisis

IT’S not often I agree with Roger Hosfield (last week’s letters) but on the issue of these so called wild boar he’s dead right, its about time the Forestry Commission eradicated this invasion.

Attempt to discredit me was politically motivated

LAST week’s letter from Cheryl Jones, Coleford, criticising myself regarding the council meeting held on April 11 was clearly politically motivated.

Where are all these available jobs?

IN response to Mark Harper, I personally would like to know where these 3,000 jobs have been created, who the local businesses are that are expanding?

I am one of 275 about to lose my job through redundancy.
