GLOUCESTERSHIRE charity Cotswolds Dogs and Cats Home was named Animal Charity Team of the Year at the 14th Petplan and ADCH Animal Charity Awards.

The awards recognise hard work and dedication put in by teams and individuals in the animal charity sector, who have gone the extra mile to help rescue and rehome animals in need. Last year, the awards received over 9,000 nominations for charities and individuals.

The nomination for CDCH said: "The staff at the Cotswolds Dogs and Cats Home deserve recognition for their exceptional dedication to handling challenging and emotionally demanding cases.

“Their work requires not only skill but also immense emotional resilience, especially in situations where the outcome is uncertain or heart breaking."

A Cotswolds Dogs and Cats Home spokesperson said: “We are overjoyed and deeply honoured. This incredible recognition means the world to us.

“The nomination alone was humbling, highlighting the tireless work of our dedicated team and the immense compassion they bring to even the most heart-wrenching cases.”

Jo Maclennan, Petplan's Director of Trading said: "I’d like to congratulate all of the worthy finalists and winners who celebrated with us at this year’s Petplan and ADCH Animal Charity Awards. The awards recognise the hard work and dedication of the volunteers, employees and teams who play such a vital role in improving the welfare of vulnerable animals.

“Petplan works in partnership with animal charities across the UK and sees first hand on a daily basis the incredible work that is done, so all of the 9000 nominees should feel very proud of this achievement."

Over the last year, Cotswolds Dogs and Cats Home supported animals through cruelty, neglect, and concern-for-welfare cases, which included animals from RSPCA investigations and from other urgent situations.
