We gave up waiting for an ambulance
Thursday, 07 June 2012
Bert Bullock.
PARAMEDICS were not sent out to a 99-year-old man who suffered a suspected broken shoulder after falling in Newent because he wasn’t classed as an emergency.
Relatives gave up waiting for an ambulance after an hour and a half and took Bert Bullock, pictured, to hospital themselves.
It comes weeks after an inquest heard that Newnham’s Elsie Riddle died six days after having to wait 40 minutes for an ambulance after breaking her hip in a fall.
Now Newent councillor Len Lawton is asking questions over the way Mr Bullock, known as ‘Uncle Bert’ was treated after he fell in Church Street.
