Broadwell Karate Club's Olympic hopeful

BROADWELL Karate Club’s Jack Howe has recently been selected on to the English Karate Federation Southern regional squad in the first step to an Olympic debut.

16-year-old Howe could feature at the 2020 Games in Tokyo after karate was accepted onto the Olympic progamme.

Selection on to the English Karate Federation Squad is the first step in the qualification process for the Olympics and Howe is a national bronze medallist and Welsh Open champion.

He has been training at Broadwell Karate Club since 2010 under the guidance of former British and Commonwealth champion Paul James, fifth Dan.

Howe competes and trains all over the UK and is among the countries top fighters for his age group.

The club trains at Broadwell Memorial Hall on Mondays and Wednesdays at 7pm and focuses on elite level competition and traditional Wado Ryu Karate.
