THE Forest’s two entrants have learned their fate in the early rounds of the FA Cup for next season, with Cinderford Town travelling to a county rival.

The Causeway club will take on fellow Southern League Division One South & West side Slimbridge in the Preliminary Round on Saturday August 19, with £1,925 up for grabs in prize money.

Lydney Town will hope to move past the Extra Preliminary Round this year after falling at the first hurdle in 2016-17.

Lydney host Wantage Town on Saturday August 5, and will be rewarded with £1,500 and a tie at Kidlington in the next round if successful.

Cinderford will go to Southern League new boys Bristol Manor Farm on Saturday October 7 for the Preliminary Round of the FA Trophy, with £3,000 the prize money for the winners.

A trip to Gosport Borough, near Portsmouth, awaits them in the next round on Saturday October 28 should they defeat Manor Farm.

Lydney welcome Winslow United to Swan Round on Saturday September 9 for the First Round Qualifying of the FA Vase, with £550 available for the winners and £175 in prize money for the losers.

A win will see Lydney travel to Wantage for the Second Round Qualifying on Saturday September 23, and a pot of £725 available for the winners of that tie.
