Newent Town Under-16s lift league trophy

By Liam Ryder in Football

NEWENT Town Under-16s completed an unbeaten league season with a 2-0 win over Churchdown Panthers and were crowned Cheltenham Youth League champions.

Newent Town gave the players and their families a day of celebration in honour of their success and warmly welcomed former men’s player and Paralympian Jack Rutter, back to Wildsmith Meadow to present the league trophy.

A handful of the Under-16s have already made their debut in senior football; most making appearances for first team the Northern Senior League Division One.

The club thanked all players and their families for their unrivalled support, club secretary Debbie Bignall and coaches Jason Rickard and Hayden Rust for all their hard work and commitment.
